Apple Pie with Fasting Dough
Ingredients: 10 sheets of thin pie (which are vegan: flour and water) 6 large apples 4 tablespoons of sugar 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon raisins if you want (I used grapes from Chile so some giant raisins) 1 tablespoon of oil
To prepare a delicious apple pie, start by carefully washing the apples, choosing the freshest and most aromatic ones. After peeling them, grate them using a large grater, ensuring you achieve a uniform mixture. Squeeze the juice from the apples until you have about a glass of juice, which you will keep separate. This juice will add an intense and natural flavor to your pie.
In a bowl, combine the grated apples with sugar, cinnamon, and raisins. Mix the ingredients well so that the sugar dissolves and combines evenly with the apples, and the flavors intertwine in a delicious dance. The raisins, which will hydrate during baking, will add a note of intensified sweetness.
Prepare the baking tray in which you will bake the pie. Lay down the first six sheets of pastry, folding them according to the size of the tray to achieve an even layer. Between each sheet, drizzle a little oil and apple juice, being careful not to soak the sheets too much, but just to lightly moisten them. The oil will add crispiness, while the apple juice will contribute to moisture.
After placing the six sheets, add the apple mixture, distributing it evenly in the tray. Cover with the other four sheets, applying the same technique of drizzling with oil. It is important for the pie to be well wrapped to bake evenly and achieve a perfect texture.
Before placing the pie in the oven, lightly cut the surface into portions to allow steam to escape and prevent cracking. Carefully pour the remaining apple juice over the pie to give it extra juiciness. Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the pie for about 35-40 minutes or until it turns golden and appetizing.
Once it reaches the perfect color, take the pie out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. This will allow the flavors to settle and make each piece easier to serve. Enjoy!
