Chicken with carrot garnish
Ingredients: 2 whole chicken thighs, 2 chicken wings, 5-6 carrots, olive oil, salt, pepper, hot paprika, thyme, fresh rosemary, parsley
To prepare a delicious main dish with chicken and carrots, we need a few simple but essential ingredients to create an amazing meal. We start by preparing the chicken meat. In a medium-sized bowl, we add the pieces of chicken, whether thighs, breast, or wings, depending on personal preferences. We pour 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil over the meat, which will not only help brown the chicken but will also add a pleasant flavor. Seasoning is the key step: we sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, then add paprika for a slightly spicy note, thyme for a Mediterranean aroma, and rosemary for a special flavor. Using our hands, we mix all the ingredients well, ensuring that each piece of meat is evenly coated with the spices.
After seasoning the meat, we take a baking dish, where we will bake the dish. We carefully place the seasoned chicken in the dish and add a small cup of water, which will help maintain moisture during baking. We cover the dish with aluminum foil or a lid to keep the steam in, and then we place it in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
While the chicken is baking in the oven, we take care of the carrots. We wash and peel the carrots, then cut them into rounds or sticks, according to preference. We put the carrots in a pot of boiling water and let them cook for about 20 minutes or until they become tender but not too soft. When they are ready, we drain the water and add them to the dish with chicken, among the pieces of meat. We leave everything in the oven for another 20 minutes, so the carrots absorb the flavors from the meat and spices.
When the baking time is up, we take the dish out of the oven, and the inviting aroma will fill the entire kitchen. The dish is now ready to serve! We generously sprinkle fresh chopped parsley on top for an extra touch of freshness and color. This dish is served hot, and a simple side of mashed potatoes or a green salad can accompany it. Enjoy your meal!
