Sausages with Rice

Ingredients: 1 red onion, 1 red bell pepper, olive oil, 3 fresh sausages, 2 handfuls of rice, 1 teaspoon sweet paprika, white wine, vegetable soup, 1 green onion, 1 tomato, green parsley.

I recently discovered a delicious recipe that deeply impressed me and that I decided to try. It is a recipe a la Gordon Ramsay, which will surely delight your taste buds. We start by preparing the necessary ingredients. You will need some sausages, red onion, bell pepper, rice, white wine, sweet paprika, vegetable broth, fresh parsley, green onion, and optionally, a fresh tomato for an extra splash of color and flavor.

In a large skillet, add a splash of olive oil and heat it over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the julienned red onion. Let the onion sauté for about five minutes, stirring occasionally, until it becomes soft and translucent, but not browned. The sweet flavor of the caramelized onion will add a special depth to your dish.

Once the onion is ready, add the diced bell pepper and continue to sauté the mixture for another five minutes. The bell pepper will add a crunchy note and vibrant flavor. After the vegetables are cooked, it’s time to deal with the sausages. Remove them from their casings and break them into small pieces by hand. Add them to the skillet over the sautéed onion and bell pepper, letting them brown well until they are golden and release their juices.

Now it’s time to add a teaspoon of sweet paprika, which will give the dish a hint of color and a slightly smoky flavor. Then, add a portion of rice, mixing well to coat it with the flavors in the skillet. It will sauté lightly, and to intensify the flavor, pour in a splash of white wine. Let the wine evaporate, leaving behind only its refined aroma.

After the wine has evaporated, add two cups of vegetable broth (or water, if you prefer). Cover the skillet and let it simmer on low heat for 20 minutes, until the rice absorbs the liquid and becomes fluffy. Finally, turn off the heat and add chopped fresh parsley, finely chopped green onion, and if you have it on hand, a diced tomato for an extra touch of freshness.

Mix the ingredients well, and your dish is ready. Serve it warm, alongside a garden salad that will perfectly complement this meal. It is a delicious dinner, full of flavor, that will transport you straight to the heart of a lovingly prepared meal.
