Grilled/Oven Pork Chop
Ingredients: - 1-2 thicker pork chops (with bone) - 6 cloves of garlic - salt - pepper - fresh or dried rosemary - 2 tablespoons of olive oil
To create a delicious and savory dish, we start with a selection of pork chops that must be fresh and of good quality. The first step is to crush a few cloves of garlic, which will add an intense and aromatic flavor to this dish. After peeling the garlic, we focus on the pork chops. They are generously brushed with olive oil, which helps achieve a crispy and tasty crust. Finally, we sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, as well as fresh rosemary, which brings a note of freshness and a special fragrance.
After seasoning the meat well, we place the chops in a tray, adding the cloves of garlic as well. We cover the tray with plastic wrap and let it refrigerate for at least two hours. This marinating time allows the flavors to penetrate deeply into the meat, making it tastier and more tender. If you have more time available, leave them overnight.
After the marinating time, we preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F). In a non-stick or cast-iron skillet, which is also suitable for the oven, we add a tablespoon of oil and let it heat well. Once the oil is hot, we place the chops in the skillet, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. We fry them for 2-3 minutes on each side until they become golden and crispy.
After turning the chops, we move the skillet to the oven and let them bake for about 15-20 minutes. This step is essential to ensure even cooking and to retain the juiciness of the meat. At the end of the time, we cover the skillet with a sheet of aluminum foil and let the dish rest for 10 minutes. This resting time allows the juices to redistribute in the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful chop.
For serving, we can choose to accompany the chops with fried or baked potatoes, which perfectly complement this dish. A fresh salad or steamed vegetables are excellent for adding a contrast of textures and making the meal more balanced. Finally, we present the chop on an elegant plate and enjoy the delicious result. Bon appétit!
