The best butter I have ever eaten is the one I made at home, and since I tried this recipe, I no longer felt the need to buy commercial butter. It all started with a recipe I found on an English website, and later I also read an article by Radu Popovici about making homemade butter. Curiosity pushed me to try, and now I am very pleased with the result. I have been making homemade yogurt for years, but butter was a novelty for me, so I decided to experiment.

To obtain delicious butter, it is essential to use quality milk. I get my milk from farmers, avoiding commercial products that often contain a high water content. This choice is reflected in the quality of the final product. After boiling the milk, I let it cool in the fridge, and over the course of two weeks, I collected the cream that formed on the surface. I managed to accumulate 400 ml of cream, which I kept in the freezer, ready to be turned into butter.

To prepare the butter, I used a stick blender equipped with a whisk. I put the cream in a tall container, ideal for avoiding splashes. After I started whipping the butter, in less than a minute I obtained a cream with a consistency similar to that of a commercial product, but I decided to continue. As they say, "whip the butter until the water comes out," and after a few minutes, I noticed how the butter began to separate from the liquid, forming a solid mass.

On the first try, I kept all the resulting water, but I discovered that it sours quickly. So, on the second try, I used absorbent kitchen towels to remove the excess liquid. The butter obtained had a flavor and texture I had never encountered in commercial products. The thought that I created something so delicious and natural made me feel proud.
