Mango Lassi

Ingredients: -1 cup mango pulp, diced -1 teaspoon lemon juice -1 cup cold yogurt -4 tablespoons sugar -1/2 cup cold milk -1 pinch ground cardamom

To prepare a delicious mango lassi, it is essential to choose ripe mango fruits that have a smooth texture and a sweet, aromatic taste. It is recommended to look for mangoes with yellow skin that is slightly soft to the touch, indicating optimal ripeness. After selecting the best fruits, we will start by peeling them. We take a mango, wash it well under cold running water, then use a sharp knife to remove the skin. It is important to cut carefully to avoid losing the juicy pulp. After peeling the mango, we cut the fruit in half, remove the pit, and slice the pulp into small cubes.

To prevent oxidation and maintain the vibrant color of the fruit, we sprinkle the mango cubes with fresh lemon juice. The lemon not only helps preserve the color but also adds a splash of acidity that will balance the sweetness of the lassi. The next step is to prepare for blending. In the jar of a blender, we add natural yogurt, which brings a pleasant creaminess, sugar, which will enhance the natural sweetness of the mango, and the mango pulp we cut earlier.

After adding all the ingredients, we turn on the blender and mix on high speed until we obtain a smooth and creamy composition. It is recommended to stop occasionally to check the consistency and ensure that no large pieces of mango remain. If we want a thinner lassi, we can add a few tablespoons of milk to adjust the texture, continuing to blend until we achieve that smooth and homogeneous appearance.

After we finish blending, we pour the mango lassi into glass cups, being careful to leave enough space to add a sprinkle of cardamom powder. The ground cardamom will add an exotic aroma and a subtle flavor that will perfectly complement the sweetness of the fruit. Mango lassi is served immediately, ideally when cold, but it can also be refreshing after sitting in the refrigerator for a few hours, making it perfect for hot summer days. Enjoy this creamy and aromatic preparation, which not only refreshes but also brings a touch of tropical flavor to every sip.
