Ingredients: 8 eggs, 250 g sugar, 4 packets vanilla sugar, 10 tablespoons flour, 200 g melted butter, 1 l milk, a pinch of salt (a knife tip)
The first essential step in preparing this delicious cake is melting the butter. It is important to ensure that it cools completely before adding it to the mixture. Therefore, we put the butter in a small saucepan and leave it on low heat, stirring constantly until it melts evenly. Once melted, we set it aside to reach room temperature.
Next, we take care of the egg yolks. Carefully separate the yolks from the whites, using a clean bowl for each. The yolks are mixed with sugar and vanilla sugar in a large bowl, using a whisk or a mixer. It is essential to mix the ingredients well until the yolks become lighter in color and fluffy, which will contribute to a more airy cake.
After obtaining a homogeneous mixture, we add the sifted flour, the melted and cooled butter, as well as the milk. These ingredients are gradually incorporated, mixing with a spatula or with the mixer on low speed to avoid lumps. Finally, we take care of the egg whites. They must be beaten into a foam with a pinch of salt until they become compact and shiny. We add the egg whites to the yolk mixture, being careful to fold from the bottom up to preserve the trapped air, which is essential for the fluffy texture of the cake.
The final mixture should be thinner but still consistent. Now, it is time to prepare the baking pan. We choose a round or rectangular pan, greasing it with butter and dusting it with flour, ensuring that every corner is covered. We carefully pour the mixture into the pan, leveling the surface with a spatula to ensure that the cake bakes evenly.
The pan is placed in the preheated oven at a moderate temperature. Baking takes about an hour, but it is essential to check the cake's state from time to time, using a toothpick to see if it is baked. During this process, the crust and cream will separate, and the cake may crack slightly, but this is not a problem; rather, it is proof that it is on its way to becoming delicious. Once ready, we let the cake cool before cutting and enjoying it. This will be a perfect dessert for any occasion, leaving everyone wanting more!
