Green Salad, Stuffed

Ingredients: -3 heads of green lettuce -500 g meat -3-4 tablespoons boiled rice -salt -pepper -1 bunch of dill, chopped -2 onions -2 tablespoons starch (flour) -3 cups bone broth (meat stock) -2 eggs -2 tablespoons lemon juice (optional) -sour cream for serving -oil

To prepare a delicious warm salad, start by cleaning the salad leaves, removing any wilted or damaged ones. It is essential to wash the leaves very carefully to avoid tearing them. Once you are done, place the salad in a sufficiently large bowl and pour boiling water, slightly salted, over it. This step will help soften the leaves, giving them a pleasant texture. After a few moments, drain the salad in a colander to remove the excess water. If you prefer, you can opt for an alternative blanching method that you find more convenient.

The next step is to deal with the meat. Mince the meat, preferably pork or beef, depending on your taste, and then head to the stove. In a pan, add a little bone broth and sauté the meat, allowing it to retain its juiciness. After it is cooked, let it cool down for easier handling. At the same time, sauté a little onion in a separate pan until it becomes golden and fragrant, then set it aside.

Meanwhile, boil the rice in slightly salted water, being careful not to overcook it to maintain its texture. Once all the ingredients are prepared, combine the meat with the sautéed onion, the boiled rice, and add beaten eggs to bind the mixture. Make sure to season with salt and pepper to achieve a balanced flavor.

Now, it is time to assemble the dish. Take the salad and place it in a heat-resistant dish, ensuring that the leaves are spread out and ready for filling. Use the meat and rice mixture to fill the salad, starting from the bottom of the head and working your way up, that is, from the center to the edges, in layers, making sure the filling is well distributed.

To finish the dish, mix the starch with the meat juice, homogenizing it with chopped dill, then pour this mixture over the salad. Place the dish in the preheated oven and let it bake for about 20-30 minutes until everything becomes fragrant and well-cooked. If you like a tangier taste, feel free to add a little lemon juice before serving.

The dish is served warm, topped with a spoonful of sour cream for added flavor. This recipe will not only delight your taste buds but will also bring a touch of joy to every meal. ENJOY YOUR MEAL!
