Appetizer Platter
Ingredients: Eggs: egg yolks, a few tablespoons of sour cream, a little butter, salt and pepper to taste, mustard to taste. Triangles: white cheese slices, Prague ham, toothpicks. For the pyramid: 1 triangle of hard sponge (styrofoam), toothpicks, large and small olives, cheese, radishes, rosemary, plastic wrap.
I started by separating the yolks from the whites, carefully placing them in a plate. With the help of a fork, I mashed the yolks until they became a fine paste, to which I added the soft butter, sour cream, salt, and pepper. I mixed everything diligently until the ingredients were perfectly combined, resulting in a creamy and flavorful composition. With the help of a spoon, I transferred this delicious filling into a plastic piping bag fitted with a nozzle. Patiently, I filled the halves of the boiled eggs with this cream, then carefully placed them in the refrigerator to cool and set.
In the meantime, I began assembling the delicious triangles. I took a slice of cheese, placed it on a clean table, followed by a slice of ham, then cheese and ham again, forming a true sandwich of flavors. I repeated the process to obtain four such layers. With a sharp knife, I trimmed the edges for a neat appearance and skillfully divided each sandwich diagonally, thus obtaining four perfectly uniform triangles. I placed them in a container and also put them in the refrigerator to keep them fresh.
Then came the turn of the third phase, which promised a spectacular appearance. I took a cone made of firm sponge, which I wrapped in plastic wrap to protect it. I fixed it in the center of an elegant platter, prepared to become a stand for my culinary creation. I started inserting radishes into the base of the cone, giving it stability and a colorful accent. After that, I drained the olives, skewered them with toothpicks, and, without any particular order, began to carefully arrange them in the sponge cone, adding a note of intense flavor.
To complete this arrangement, I sliced the cheese, and then with the help of a cookie cutter, I created some attractive shapes from the cheese. I also cut some small cubes, which I skewered with toothpicks in the sponge cone, thus bringing a variety of textures and flavors. Finally, I added a few sprigs of fresh rosemary, which not only enriched the appearance of the platter but also brought a fragrant note, perfectly completing this culinary creation. This combination of colors and shapes not only looked wonderful but also promised an explosion of tastes.
