Chicken and Artichoke Tart... Or Other Vegetables
Ingredients: * 250 g puff pastry (or sugar-free shortcrust) round sheet * 1/2 chicken breast (raw or leftover roast) * 5 pieces of fresh or frozen artichokes (or canned from a jar) * garlic * 2 eggs * 3 tablespoons sour cream * 120 g ricotta or whey cheese * 3-4 tablespoons parmesan... or grana padano * oregano * olive oil * salt, pepper
To prepare a delicious artichoke and chicken breast tart, it is essential to pay attention to every detail of the recipe. We start by cleaning the artichoke, carefully removing the tough outer leaves and keeping only the tender part. Once we have obtained the artichoke hearts, we cut them in halves and add them to a heated pan with a little olive oil. We add a clove of garlic, which we lightly crush to release its aroma. We season with salt and pepper to taste, then let the artichoke sauté for a few minutes until it becomes softer and develops its flavor. After it has cooled slightly, we cut the halves into quarters to distribute them evenly in the tart.
Meanwhile, we take care of the chicken breast. If we are using raw meat, we cut it into thin strips or cubes, depending on personal preference. We heat a pan with olive oil again and add the chicken strips, browning them on all sides. They will become tender and juicy, and the garlic aroma will perfectly complement the meat's flavor. We season the chicken with salt and pepper, ensuring it is well seasoned.
In a separate bowl, we beat the eggs with cream, adding ricotta or cottage cheese for a creamy texture. We mix all the ingredients well, adding salt, pepper, and grated parmesan, which will provide a rich and salty taste to our tart.
We prepare the dough, which we roll out evenly into a round shape, lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking. We place the chicken strips on top of the dough, followed by the egg and ricotta mixture, and then arrange the artichoke quarters on top. We sprinkle oregano for an extra touch of flavor and aroma.
We fold the edges of the dough to form a delicious crust and place the tart in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. We bake the tart for about 30-40 minutes or until the dough turns golden and crispy. Finally, we let it cool slightly before cutting and serving, so the flavors can settle and delight our senses. This tart can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature, making it perfect for a savory lunch or an elegant dinner.
