Apple Pie

 Ingredients: You need for the 30x20 tray: 350 g of flour, a pinch of baking powder, a glass of water three-quarters full of oil, 1 tablespoon of sugar, water for kneading, apples (12 pieces) or other fruits, cinnamon, grated lemon peel, vanilla, a pinch of sugar to taste, and a handful of crushed or finely chopped nuts (optional).

To prepare a delicious apple pie, we will start by gathering all the necessary ingredients. We need 500 g of flour, 250 g of butter or margarine, 150 g of sugar, one egg, a teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt, and warm water as needed to obtain a soft dough. These ingredients are carefully combined to create a uniform and pleasant texture.

In a large bowl, add the sifted flour, diced butter, and sugar. Mix using a spatula or your fingers until the mixture becomes crumbly, similar to breadcrumbs. Add the egg, baking powder, and salt, continuing to mix. Start adding warm water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing constantly until you achieve a homogeneous dough that is easy to shape. The dough should not be too hard, but soft enough to roll out easily.

Once you have finished preparing the dough, divide it into two equal parts. Take the first half and, using a rolling pin, roll out an even sheet, being careful not to make it too thin. Place the sheet in the baking pan, which you can grease with a little butter or line with parchment paper. Use a fork to poke the dough so that it doesn’t puff up during baking. Sprinkle a thin layer of breadcrumbs over the dough, which will absorb the juices from the apples and prevent the dough from getting soggy.

For the filling, peel and cube 1 kg of apples. Mix them with 100 g of sugar, a teaspoon of cinnamon, and the juice of half a lemon. This combination will add a delicious and aromatic flavor to the pie. Pour the apple mixture over the sheet of dough in the pan, spreading it out for an even distribution of apples.

Now roll out the other half of the dough and carefully place it over the filling, making sure the edges are well pressed to seal the pie. Poke again with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking. Preheat the oven to a temperature slightly above medium (about 180-190°C) and bake the pie for 35-40 minutes or until golden.

Once the pie is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan. After it has completely cooled, cut it into squares or slices, then dust with powdered sugar for a nice appearance and sweet taste.
