Apple and Walnut Filling Rolls
Ingredients: -1 package of puff pastry (800 g) Filling: -apple puree (leftover from apples passed through the juicer) -sugar, to taste -ground nuts (enough to give the mixture consistency) -ground cinnamon, to taste Decoration: -vanilla powdered sugar, for serving
To prepare these delicious apple rolls, we start by letting the puff pastry thaw. It is important that it is completely defrosted so that it can be handled easily. While we wait, we focus on the apple filling. We take the apples, wash them well, peel them, and then cut them into small cubes. We add sugar, ground nuts, and cinnamon, carefully mixing until all the ingredients are perfectly combined. The aroma of cinnamon will fill the kitchen and anticipate the delicious taste of the rolls.
Once the dough has thawed, we roll it out on a clean surface sprinkled with a little flour to prevent sticking. We cut the dough into rectangles of suitable size, considering that each roll will contain a heaping teaspoon of the apple filling. Make sure you have cut enough dough so that it is enough for all the prepared apples.
On each rectangle of dough, we then place a teaspoon of the apple and nut mixture, being careful not to overfill, to avoid the filling leaking during baking. We carefully roll the dough, starting from one edge, forming a tight roll. It is important to ensure that the rolls are well sealed so that they do not open during baking.
After all the rolls are prepared, we place them side by side on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. This will help maintain their shape and make cleaning up afterwards easier. We preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius, and when it is ready, we place the tray with the rolls inside. We let them bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the dough turns golden and crispy.
After we take them out of the oven, we let the rolls cool slightly on a wire rack. At this point, we can dust them with vanilla powdered sugar for an extra touch of flavor and an attractive appearance. These apple rolls are delicious served warm, and their aroma will delight both family and friends. Enjoy them with a cup of tea or coffee for a perfect snack!
