Adria Cake
Ingredients: a pack of ladyfingers, a cup of milk, 1 pack of Dr. Oetker whipped cream, 2 large oranges, half a kg of sour cherries, cake base (I made it at home, I think it is much better this way) made from: 8 eggs, 8 tablespoons of sugar, 7 tablespoons of flour, 1 bottle of mint essence, 1 bottle of rum essence, 1 bottle of vanilla essence, 2 packets of Dr. Oetker vanilla cream, 1 sachet of ice coffee, 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, sugar to taste
Preparation method - preferably, use a larger platter that allows the cake to fit easily, considering that this dessert will become the star of the table. The first step is to prepare the layers, using a classic cake recipe. We start by beating the egg whites until they become a firm meringue, then we take care of the yolks, which we beat well with sugar. It is important to obtain a fluffy and light-colored mixture. I added 7 tablespoons of flour because the cake is denser and thus tends to rise evenly without sinking.
In the meantime, we prepare the ladyfingers, which we will lightly soak in cold milk. It is essential that they do not crumble, so we will quickly dip them and remove them carefully. These will form the base of the cake, so we place the ladyfingers at the bottom of the platter. Over them, we pour a generous layer of whipped cream, which we decorate with small pieces of orange for added flavor and freshness.
After the layer has cooled, we cut it into three equal parts. The first part of the cake will be carefully placed over the ladyfingers, and before assembling it, we soak it with apple juice, which will give it a sweet and sour taste. The apple pulp, mixed with sugar, ground cinnamon, mint essence, and rum, will be spread on top, creating a fragrant base.
For the second part of the cake, we soak it with cherry juice mixed with vanilla essence, being careful not to make it too wet, as we prefer a less soaked cake. On top, we add the cherry pulp, mixed with sugar, carefully adjusted so that it is not too sweet. Then, we put a layer of vanilla cream, which will blend all the flavors.
The last part of the cake will be covered again with vanilla cream, with which we will decorate the entire surface of the cake. We garnish with pieces of orange and a topping of berries, which will add a touch of color and freshness. Finally, a packet of ice-coffee will be lightly sifted over the cake, bringing a hint of aromatic coffee.
During the preparation, ideas began to flow, and thus, I managed to create a delicious cake, not too sweet, perfect for cooling off on a hot day, full of flavors that blend harmoniously. It is a dessert that will surely impress loved ones. Enjoy your meal!
