AIS Cake: A Chocolate Delight with Sweet Memories

When it comes to special moments spent in the kitchen, there is nothing more enjoyable than joining your friends to create a delicious dessert. Today, I will share with you the recipe for a wonderful chocolate cake that I prepared together with two of my dearest friends, Andreea and Irina. This cake is not just a simple dessert, but a true experience that combines the flavor of chocolate with friendship and the joy of cooking together.

General Information:
- Preparation time: 30 minutes
- Baking time: 30 minutes
- Total time: 1 hour
- Number of servings: 8

Nutritional Benefits:
This chocolate cake is not only delicious but also a source of energy due to the dark chocolate. It offers antioxidants and can be a healthier choice than other desserts when consumed in moderation. Those who love chocolate will surely appreciate the combination of flavors, and the truffle-flavored cream adds a touch of elegance.

Ingredients:

*For the base:*
- 4 eggs
- 6 tablespoons of cold water
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of flour
- 4 squares of dark chocolate

*For the chocolate cream:*
- 1 packet of chocolate, truffle, and rum-flavored cream from Dr. Oetker
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 cup of cold milk
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa

*For the glaze:*
- 1 packet of chocolate glaze from Dr. Oetker
- 6 tablespoons of cold water

*For decoration:*
- 1 packet of whipped cream powder
- 150 ml milk
- Compote grapes (for decoration)

Preparing the Base:

1. Separating the Eggs: The first step is to separate the eggs, ensuring no yolks remain in the whites. This separation is essential for achieving a fluffy base.

2. Beating the Egg Whites: In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until they form a stiff foam. This step will add air and volume to your cake.

3. Mixing the Yolks: In another bowl, mix the yolks with the sugar until a light-colored foam forms. Then, add the cold water and continue mixing until the sugar dissolves completely.

4. Combining Ingredients: With a spatula, gently fold the beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture, mixing from the bottom up to avoid losing the air in the whites.

5. Adding Flour and Chocolate: Sift the flour and grated dark chocolate over the mixture and mix gently. This step ensures a fine and rich texture for the base.

6. Baking: Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and place it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the base is firm to the touch and passes the toothpick test.

7. Cooling the Base: Once baked, let the base cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, cut it into three equal parts.

Preparing the Cream:

1. Mixing the Creams: In a bowl, add the packet of chocolate cream, sugar, and cold milk. Mix well until you obtain a smooth and creamy mixture. Also, add cocoa for extra flavor.

2. Whipping the Cream: In another bowl, whip the cream according to the instructions on the packet, using 150 ml of milk. Ensure the cream becomes firm and airy.

3. Combining: Combine the chocolate cream with the whipped cream, mixing carefully to avoid losing volume.

Assembling the Cake:

1. First Layer: Place the first part of the base on a platter. Spread a generous layer of chocolate cream over it.

2. Second Layer: Add the second part of the base, followed by another layer of cream.

3. Finishing: Place the last part of the base on top and cover the entire cake with the chocolate glaze. Prepare the glaze according to the instructions on the packet, mixing with the 6 tablespoons of cold water.

Decorating the Cake:

1. Decorations: Use the remaining whipped cream to decorate the cake as you wish. You can add compote grapes for a fresh and appealing look.

2. Serving: Let the cake cool in the refrigerator for at least an hour before cutting it. This will help set the layers and enhance the flavors.

Suggestions and Variations:

- I recommend trying other types of chocolate, such as white chocolate or milk chocolate, to customize the cake's flavor.
- You can add a layer of fresh fruits between the cream layers, such as strawberries or raspberries, for a pleasant contrast of flavors.
- Serve the cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a glass of sweet wine for a complete culinary experience.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. *Can I replace the eggs with another ingredient?* - Yes, you can use banana puree or yogurt to make an eggless cake, but the final texture may differ.

2. *How can I store the cake for a longer time?* - It is recommended to keep it in the refrigerator, covered, to prevent drying out.

3. *Can I use whole wheat flour?* - Yes, but keep in mind that the cake may have a denser texture.
