Step 1: Preparing the fish
Start by cleaning the fish. Remove the scales, intestines, and head if you prefer. Cut it into suitable pieces, then soak it in cold water for 15 minutes. This step not only helps eliminate unpleasant odors but also keeps the meat juicy.
Step 2: Chopping the vegetables
While the fish is resting, take care of the vegetables. Chop the onion finely and dice the bell pepper. Grate the carrot. These vegetables will bring a delicious aroma and a pleasant texture to your borscht.
