Lasagna
Ingredients: 600 g minced meat mix, 300 ml broth, chopped greens, 2 onions, salt, pepper, 1 pack of lasagna sheets Monte Banato (I used), 50 g butter, 100 g flour, nutmeg, 800 ml milk, 150 g grated cheese.
To prepare a delicious lasagna dish, we will start by preparing the meat. In a large skillet, add a little oil and let it heat over medium heat. Then, add the finely chopped onions and sauté them until they become translucent and slightly golden, which will add extra flavor to the dish. After the onion is sautéed, deglaze everything with tomato puree, which will provide a remarkable intensity to the taste.
Next, add the ground meat, mixing well to incorporate it with the onion and the puree. Let the meat cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, to brown it evenly. Once the meat is cooked, season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs like parsley or basil to add a touch of freshness.
Meanwhile, prepare the lasagna sheets. Boil water in a large pot, add salt, and then introduce the lasagna sheets. Let them boil for 10 minutes, following the instructions on the package, to ensure they become soft and flexible but not completely cooked, as they will continue to cook in the oven.
Now, let's take care of the béchamel sauce. In another pot, melt the butter over low heat. Once it has completely melted, gradually add the cold milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. From some of the milk, dissolve the flour, and then incorporate the mixture into the pot, stirring continuously until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth. Add chopped herbs and a pinch of nutmeg to enhance the sauce's flavor.
To assemble the lasagna, start by placing a first layer of lasagna sheets in a baking dish. On top, pour a generous layer of béchamel sauce, followed by a layer of the previously prepared meat. Continue layering: another row of sheets, white sauce, meat, sheets, and sauce, repeating until all ingredients are used. Finally, cover everything with a last layer of sheets, then pour the remaining béchamel sauce and sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Place the dish in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and let it bake for about 40 minutes, or until the surface becomes golden and appetizing. The lasagna will be ready to be enjoyed, offering a perfect blend of flavors and textures, ideal for a family meal or a special occasion.
