Spinach Cream
Ingredients: 400 g of cooked spinach, a cube of butter, a small onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of flour, half a glass of milk, delicate, juice from the cooked spinach.
To prepare a delicious and nutritious spinach-based dish, we start by ensuring we have all the ingredients ready. You will need a medium onion, a few cubes of butter, milk, flour, cooked spinach, salt, a seasoning such as Delikat, and optionally, fresh bread or pasta for serving.
The first step is to peel and finely chop the onion. Once the onion is prepared, in a skillet, add the butter cubes and let them melt over medium heat. When the butter becomes foamy, add the chopped onion. It is important to sauté the onion for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly to avoid burning. The onion should become slightly translucent and release its aroma.
In a separate bowl, we take care of the milk and flour mixture. Pour a glass of milk into a bowl and gradually add the flour, continuously stirring with a whisk or a wooden spoon to avoid lumps. The mixture should become smooth and creamy. Then, add the cooked spinach, which we had previously chopped finely. It is essential that the spinach is well-drained before adding it to the mixture.
After mixing all the ingredients well, add the juice from the spinach, about a glass, to enhance the flavor and improve the consistency of the sauce. Stir again to ensure all the ingredients are well integrated. This combination will then be poured over the sautéed onion in the skillet. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy. This process may take between 5 and 10 minutes.
Once the sauce has reached the desired consistency, season with salt and Delikat to taste. These ingredients will enhance the flavors and turn the dish into a true feast.
For serving, you have two delicious options: you can pour this creamy sauce over slices of toasted bread, giving them a crunchy texture and rich taste, or you can combine it with al dente pasta for a comforting meal. Whichever choice you make, your dish will surely be a success!
