Cherry candies from cherry liqueur
Hello! Today I want to share with you a recipe very dear to me - cherry candies made from cherry liqueur. I prepared this recipe for the first time at school, during the workshop class. These classes not only taught me about teamwork but also helped me become more creative and inventive in the kitchen. The recipe I will describe today is the original one that I learned and that has stayed in my memory.
To start, we will take care of the cherries. It is essential to remove the pits very carefully so that each cherry remains whole. After completing this step, we let them drain to eliminate excess juice. At the same time, we prepare the rest of the ingredients: we sift the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to obtain a fine and homogeneous texture.
In a large bowl, we cream the butter with the powdered sugar until the mixture becomes fluffy and airy. This step is crucial because well-beaten butter will make the candies softer and more pleasant to taste. We continue by adding the ground nuts and crushed biscuits, mixing carefully to integrate the ingredients. If you prefer, you can use carob powder instead of cocoa for a different but equally delicious taste.
The milk is added gradually, just enough to moisten the mixture without making it too soft. It is important to obtain a mixture that can be easily shaped. After achieving the desired consistency, we prepare to form the candies. We take a small amount of the mixture, make a ball, and place a cherry in the middle. We carefully shape it to enclose the cherry inside, so it does not come to the surface.
Once we have finished shaping all the candies, we roll them in granulated sugar, which will give them a sweet and crunchy crust. Now it's time to let them cool in a cool place where they can harden and settle. After a few hours, they are ready to serve. These cherry candies are ideal to be shared with loved ones, bringing a touch of joy and nostalgia in every bite. They are served with great appetite and I am sure they will be appreciated by everyone!
