Preheat the oven to 200°C (gas mark 6), creating the perfect atmosphere for baking some delicious rolls. In a blender, add the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. These ingredients will form the base of the dough and will add subtle flavors that will blend harmoniously. Pulse the mixture to ensure good homogeneity so that the flavors distribute evenly.

Add the pieces of butter, which, being at room temperature, will incorporate much more easily into the mixture. Pulse again until the butter is well incorporated and the flour takes on a texture similar to fine sand. This is the stage where the dough will begin to take shape, and the aroma of the butter will start to be felt. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add the grated carrot, finely chopped onion, and crumbled gorgonzola cheese. These ingredients will bring a note of freshness and an intense flavor, perfect for balancing the sweetness of the carrot.

Mix the ingredients well with a spatula, ensuring that each ingredient is well incorporated into the dough. In another bowl, beat the egg with the sour cream until you obtain a homogeneous mixture, then pour the mixture over the dry ingredients. Use a spatula to combine everything, thus forming a slightly sticky dough. Don't worry if it seems too soft; this texture will ensure fluffy and delicious rolls.

Sprinkle a little flour on the work surface and shape the dough into a circle, then divide it into 8 equal pieces. Form balls from each piece and gently press them to give them a slightly flattened shape. Place them on a tray lined with aluminum foil, making sure to leave enough space between them to bake evenly. Pay close attention to their consistency, as a uniform appearance will lead to even baking.

To give them an attractive shine, brush them with beaten egg on top. This step will not only enhance the aesthetic appearance but will also contribute to a golden and crispy crust. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 16-20 minutes, or until they become golden and slightly browned. Once ready, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a rack, at least to room temperature, before serving. These rolls are perfect as an appetizer, alongside a fresh salad, or as a side dish for a main course. Enjoy every bite of these aromatic delights!
