We begin the culinary adventure with a simple yet delicious recipe, perfect for moments when you want to impress guests or treat yourself. The first step is to prepare the dough. In a large bowl, we add 300 grams of flour, 10 grams of baking powder, a pinch of salt, 100 grams of sugar, one fresh egg, 150 grams of soft butter, and 1 packet of vanilla. Using a spatula or a mixer on low speed, we mix the ingredients until we obtain a homogeneous dough that easily comes away from the sides of the bowl. It is important not to mix too much, in order to keep the fluffy texture of the dough sheets. Once the dough is formed, we wrap it in plastic wrap and leave it in the fridge for about 40 minutes. This step is essential, as cooling the dough will make it much easier to roll out and will prevent small inconveniences during baking.
After 40 minutes, we take the dough out of the fridge and place it on a surface sprinkled with a little flour. We roll it out with a rolling pin until we obtain a thin sheet that will perfectly cover the baking tray. We place the dough in the greased and floured tray, making sure that the edges are well formed. We put it in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the dough takes on a delicious golden hue. Once baked, we take the tray out of the oven and let the dough cool completely on a cooling rack.
Meanwhile, we focus on the delicious cream that will complement this dessert. In another bowl, we combine 250 grams of mascarpone with 250 grams of ricotta, 100 grams of sugar, and the grated zest of one fresh lemon. Using a mixer, we mix the ingredients for 1-2 minutes, until the cream becomes smooth and fluffy. This combination of cheeses will provide a creamy texture and refined flavor, perfect for spreading on the cooled dough.
Once the dough has completely cooled, we spread the cream evenly on top, covering every corner of the delicious base. For an attractive appearance and unmistakable taste, we decorate with fresh figs, cut into quarters, carefully placing them on the cream cheese. These not only add a splash of color but also a sweet-sour flavor that perfectly blends with the rest of the ingredients.
The finished dessert is not only a delight for the taste buds but also a true work of art on the plate. Serve it cold, savoring every bite. Enjoy your meal!
