Appetizer Roses

Ingredients: 1 package of puff pastry dry salami

Puff pastry is one of the most versatile and delicious types of dough, and today's recipe will take us on a flavorful culinary journey. We start by taking the puff pastry out of the fridge, giving it time to reach room temperature. This step is essential, as dough at the optimal temperature is much easier to handle and will rise evenly in the oven.

Once the puff pastry has warmed up, we roll it out on a clean surface using a rolling pin. Make sure the dough is even and does not stick to the surface. Once we have a thin sheet, we cut the dough into long strips, making sure they are about 3-4 cm wide. Then, we divide each strip into two equal parts width-wise, resulting in four smaller strips.

On each strip, we place slices of salami, cut very thinly, making sure that half of each slice is placed on the dough, while the other half remains outside of it. This technique will ensure an elegant appearance and add a touch of flavor to each rose we form. We carefully roll the strips, starting from one end, so that we achieve a beautiful rose shape. It is important to roll tightly, but not so much that we crush the dough.

After we have formed all the roses, we place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, making sure to leave a little space between them to allow for expansion during baking. This detail will help each rose bake evenly and achieve a crispy texture. We preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius, and when it is ready, we place the tray with the puff pastry roses inside.

We let them bake for 15-20 minutes or until the puff pastry turns golden and resonates with a mouthwatering aroma. When they are ready, we take the tray out of the oven and let the roses cool slightly before serving. These delights are perfect as appetizers at a party or as snacks between meals. You will be amazed at how simple and quick they are to prepare, as well as the impact they have at the table. Enjoy every bite!
