Banana and Cocoa Muffins
Banana muffins are an excellent choice for a quick breakfast or a sweet snack. This simple recipe will bring a smile to your face every morning, thanks to its delicious flavors and fluffy texture. Here are the detailed steps to prepare these savory muffins.
First, take a ripe banana and put it in a plastic bag. Use a rolling pin or a similar tool to mash it well. It is important for the banana to be ripe, as it will add natural sweetness and intense flavor to your muffins. Once you have a smooth paste, set it aside.
In a separate bowl, beat a fresh egg. Add sunflower oil, fresh milk, and brown sugar. Mix the ingredients well with a whisk or a fork until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture becomes homogeneous. The oil will provide moisture, and the milk will make the muffins fluffy.
Now, add the mashed banana to the egg mixture and gently mix until all the banana is well incorporated. It is essential to homogenize the mixture, but do not overmix. At this point, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder in another bowl. Sifting these ingredients is an important step, as it will ensure a fine and even texture for the muffins.
After the dry ingredients are sifted, gradually add them to the banana and egg mixture. Gently mix, just until all the ingredients are wet. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to dense muffins. The mixture should be slightly lumpy.
Now, take the muffin tins and fill them with the prepared mixture. Make sure to fill them only up to 3/4 full to allow the muffins to rise beautifully during baking. Place the tins on a baking tray and put them in the preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius. Bake the muffins for 25-30 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Once the muffins are baked, let them cool slightly in the tin, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. These banana muffins are extremely fluffy and tasty, and their aroma will delight you every time you enjoy them. You can serve them plain or with a chocolate glaze for an extra indulgence. Enjoy!
