Tender Croissants
Ingredients: 300 gr flour 200 gr butter 140 gr ground walnuts 140 gr powdered sugar juice and zest of 1 lemon
The tender crescent rolls are a delicacy that evokes childhood memories and moments spent in the kitchen with loved ones. Preparing them is not just a culinary process, but a true art that requires patience and attention to detail. We start by preparing all the necessary ingredients for the dough. You will need 500 grams of flour, 250 grams of butter or margarine, 100 grams of sugar, 2 egg yolks, 200 grams of cottage cheese or ricotta, a teaspoon of vanilla essence, and a pinch of salt.
To achieve a perfect dough, start by sifting the flour into a large bowl. Add the butter cut into cubes and begin to knead with your fingers until you obtain a texture similar to fine sand. This step is essential for integrating the butter into the flour, giving the dough a light and pleasant consistency. Then add the sugar, cottage cheese, egg yolks, vanilla essence, and salt. Continue kneading until all the ingredients are well incorporated and you obtain a homogeneous dough.
Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes, covered with a damp towel, in a cool place. This step will help the gluten relax, making it easier to shape the crescent rolls. After the time has passed, divide the dough into small portions, then roll out each piece on a floured surface, forming a circle about 3-4 mm thick. Cut the circle into triangles, being careful to maintain uniform sizes.
On each triangle, add a teaspoon of your preferred filling, which can vary from apricot jam, ground nuts with sugar, chocolate, or anything else you desire. Once filled, roll the triangles starting from their base, forming the crescent rolls, which will take on a delicate and elegant shape.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Place the crescent rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them to prevent sticking during baking. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until they become golden and emit an inviting aroma.
Once out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, then dust them with powdered sugar. This step gives them a delicious appearance and a characteristic sweet taste. Arrange the crescent rolls on an elegant platter and serve them with fragrant tea or coffee. You will notice that they melt in your mouth, providing a feeling of pleasure and satisfaction. These tender crescent rolls are ideal for any occasion and will surely impress everyone who tastes them.
