Quick dessert with caramelized pears and brick pastry
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Baking time: 15 minutes
Total time: 35 minutes
Number of servings: 4
I propose a simple and delicious recipe for a quick dessert: caramelized pears in brick pastry. This combination of textures and flavors will impress any guest and is perfect for those moments when you crave something sweet but don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
- 4 medium ripe but firm pears
- 100 g sugar
- 50 g butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 8 sheets of brick pastry
- Oil for frying (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Step by step:
1. Preparing the ingredients: Start by washing the pears, peeling them, and cutting them into quarters, then remove the seeds. Cutting them into quarters will allow for even caramelization, and the pears will take on a pleasant texture.
2. Caramelizing the pears: In a large skillet, add the sugar and let it melt over medium heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Once the sugar turns golden, add the butter and mix well. Add the pears and, if desired, the cinnamon. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until they become soft and caramelized.
3. Preparing the brick pastry: Meanwhile, prepare the brick pastry. I recommend cutting them in half to create crescent shapes. These will be easier to fill and handle.
4. Filling the pastry: On each half of the brick pastry, add a spoonful of the caramelized pear mixture. Be generous, but do not overload the sheets to avoid breaking them.
5. Wrapping: Fold each sheet over the filling, forming a triangle or crescent shape. Make sure the edges are well sealed to prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
6. Baking: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the filled sheets on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. If you want extra crispiness, you can brush the surface with a little oil. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
7. Serving: Once the sheets are ready, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm, alongside a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. It will melt slightly from the heat of the crispy sheets, creating a delicious contrast.
Personal suggestion: You can also experiment with other fruits, such as apples or peaches, to create interesting variations. Additionally, adding roasted nuts to the filling can bring extra texture and flavor.
This quick dessert recipe with caramelized pears and brick pastry is not only easy to prepare but also a perfect way to impress without too much effort. Enjoy every bite!
