Reinvented Tiramisu with Speculos Cream: a dessert that blends tradition with a modern twist

Do you want to surprise your guests with a delicious, quick, and easy-to-make dessert? Reinvented tiramisu with Speculos cream is the perfect choice! This recipe not only combines the warm flavors of cinnamon with the freshness of pineapple, but it also offers a unique experience through the use of Speculos cookies. With a sweet and aromatic taste, this dessert is ideal for any occasion, from parties to family gatherings.

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Refrigeration time: 12 hours (ideally, overnight)
Total: 12 hours 30 minutes
Number of servings: 8-10

Necessary ingredients

- 1 small package of ladyfingers (approx. 200 g)
- 250 g mascarpone cheese
- 200 ml liquid cream
- 200 g Speculos cream
- 1 can of pineapple slices
- A small amount of powdered cinnamon (for decoration)

Necessary utensils

- A large mixing bowl
- A mixer (preferably with a whisk)
- A loaf pan or another desired container
- Plastic wrap
- Spatula

Steps for preparation

1. Preparing the cream: In a large bowl, add the mascarpone cheese and a pinch of salt. This will help balance the flavor and enhance the aromas. Use the mixer to homogenize the cheese.

2. Whipping the cream: In another bowl, add the liquid cream and whip it with the mixer until it becomes stiff, being careful not to turn it into butter. The whipped cream will provide a light and airy texture to the dessert.

3. Combining the ingredients: Add the Speculos cream over the mascarpone cheese and gently mix with a spatula until well combined. Then, gradually fold in the whipped cream. Use up-and-down motions to keep the air in the cream, ensuring the result is a smooth and fluffy cream.

4. Preparing the mold: Line the inside of the loaf pan with plastic wrap, leaving the edges to hang over slightly. This step will make it easier to remove the dessert from the pan once it has set.

5. Assembling the dessert: Start by soaking the ladyfingers in the drained pineapple juice. Place an even layer of ladyfingers at the bottom of the mold.

6. Adding the cream: Spread half of the prepared cream over the ladyfingers, making sure to cover the entire surface. Then, add the diced pineapple, distributing it evenly.

7. Finalizing the layers: Cover the pineapple with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and top with the remaining cream. Level it well with the spatula.

8. Cooling: Fold the edges of the plastic wrap over the cream and place the pan in the refrigerator. Here, the dessert will set, and the flavors will blend perfectly.

Serving

After it has been in the refrigerator overnight, remove the dessert from the pan using the plastic wrap. Sprinkle a little powdered cinnamon on top for an attractive appearance and a fragrant note. You can decorate with pineapple halves to add a splash of color. Cut into servings and serve with a smile!

Practical tips

- Ingredient substitutions: If you can't find Speculos cream, you can use a chocolate cookie cream or a combination of chocolate and peanut butter for an innovative version.
- Dairy-free option: You can opt for soy mascarpone and plant-based cream for a vegan version.
- Enhancing flavors: Add a few drops of vanilla extract to the cream for an even more refined taste.

Nutritional benefits

This dessert recipe is rich in calcium due to the mascarpone cheese and pineapple. Additionally, the ladyfingers provide quick energy, being a good source of carbohydrates.
