Interactive Pizza for Picky Kids

I propose an innovative recipe that will turn mealtime into a true culinary adventure! This interactive pizza will not only capture the attention of the little ones but will also motivate them to try less popular ingredients, such as fish. In addition to the delicious combination, we will add an element of play to actively involve them in the preparation. Get ready to reveal to your children the joy of eating and playing at the same time!

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Baking Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
Number of Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients
For a 30 cm tray (can be adapted according to desired size):
- Classic Pizza Dough (you can use a favorite recipe)
- 180 g canned tuna (preferably in water)
- 50 g tomato sauce
- 200 g grated cheese
- 1 large tomato
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 1/2 red onion
- 50 g sliced olives
- 50 g boiled corn
- 1-2 bunches of greens (dill, parsley, etc.)
- 1 egg yolk (for brushing the figures)
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation Steps
Step 1: Preparing the Pizza Dough
Start by preparing the pizza dough. You can use a favorite recipe or a quick recipe you have on hand. Make sure the dough is well kneaded and allowed to rise. When ready, divide it into two parts: 1/3 for the figures and 2/3 for the pizza base.

Step 2: Prepare the Tray
Protect a baking tray of about 30x30 cm with baking paper. If you do not have such a large tray, you can use a smaller one, but you will need to adjust the quantities.

Step 3: Preparing the Figures
Start by kneading a part of the reserved dough with pepper paste or tomato paste to obtain a reddish hue. Roll the dough to a thickness of about 4 mm and cut out zero shapes (4 cm in diameter). You can use a glass lid if you don't have cutters.

For the X figures, you can use the white dough, which you should roll out and cut into X shapes. Give them a cheerful hue: brush with a little homemade ketchup or, for a healthier option, you can add a bit of red pepper puree.

Step 4: Preparing the Pizza Base
From the remaining 2/3 of the dough, roll out a square sheet about 8 mm thick, adjusting the dimensions to 29 cm. Roll it on a rolling pin and transfer it to the tray.

Step 5: Filling
Mix the tomato sauce with the spices (basil, oregano, pepper) and spread it evenly over the dough. Add the sliced cheese around the edge of the pizza, leaving a free space in the middle. Arrange slices of onion, bell pepper, sliced olives, and torn tuna strips. Add a few slices of tomato and sprinkle the boiled corn. Cover with grated cheese.

Step 6: Baking
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the pizza in the oven for about 25-35 minutes, until it is nicely browned. The dough figures can be baked separately, 7 minutes apart to avoid burning.

Step 7: Decorating and Serving
After 15 minutes of baking, remove the pizza and sprinkle with chopped dill, protecting the edges with paper to achieve a pleasant visual effect. Let it brown for a few more minutes. Serve the pizza on a square plate, alongside the funny figures, which you can stick in colorful toothpicks to make them more appealing to kids.

Suggestions and Variations
This recipe is extremely versatile. You can try various combinations of ingredients, such as:
- For a spicy taste: add a few slices of hot pepper.
- For vegetarians: you can omit the tuna and add more vegetables, such as mushrooms or zucchini.
- For a more cheerful appearance: use natural colorants for the dough, such as beet juice or spinach.

Nutritional Benefits
This pizza is not only delicious but also healthy. Fish is an excellent source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids, essential for the brain development of little ones. Fresh vegetables provide a supply of vitamins and minerals, while cheese ensures calcium for strong bones.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can this pizza be frozen? Yes, you can freeze the pizza before baking it. You can bake it directly from the freezer, but it will require a longer cooking time.
- How can I make the pizza crispier? You can bake the pizza on a special pizza stone, which helps distribute heat evenly.

What can it be paired with?
This interactive pizza pairs perfectly with a fresh vegetable salad or a garlic yogurt sauce for a delicious contrast. Additionally, fresh lemonade or fruit tea will perfectly complement the meal.
