Want to impress your family and friends with a simple yet incredibly tasty dessert? The yogurt and biscuit cake is the perfect solution! This quick recipe combines delicate flavors of vanilla, rum, and coffee, while the creamy texture of yogurt blends perfectly with the crunchy biscuits. Follow the steps below to achieve an exceptional result.
Ingredients:
- 1 package of square biscuits (about 200 g)
- 2 jars of yogurt (400 g each, preferably vanilla flavored)
- 10 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 2 sachets of vanilla sugar
- 2 sachets of gelatin (about 20 g)
- 1 cup of milk cocoa (about 250 ml)
- A few drops of rum essence
- 1 sachet of instant coffee (about 7 g)
- Cocoa for dusting (optional)
Step by step:
1. Preparing the gelatin: Start by hydrating the gelatin according to the instructions on the package. Usually, it dissolves in warm water. Make sure to let it cool slightly before adding it to the mixture.
2. Creating the vanilla yogurt mixture: In one jar of yogurt, add one sachet of vanilla sugar, 5 tablespoons of sugar, and the melted gelatin. Mix well until the sugar completely dissolves and the mixture becomes homogeneous.
3. Preparing the coffee yogurt mixture: In the second jar of yogurt, add the same sachet of vanilla sugar, the other 5 tablespoons of sugar, the cooled gelatin, the instant coffee sachet, and a few drops of rum essence. Mix again until homogeneous.
4. Preparing the biscuits: In a bowl, pour the cup of milk cocoa. Quickly dip the biscuits in the cocoa, making sure not to soak them too much to avoid disintegration.
5. Assembling the cake: Choose a suitable baking dish (e.g., 20x30 cm). Place a layer of soaked biscuits on the bottom of the dish. Pour the vanilla yogurt mixture on top, then add another layer of cocoa-soaked biscuits. Finally, pour the coffee yogurt mixture.
6. Chilling: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let the cake chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, or until it sets well.
7. Serving: Once the cake has chilled, dust it with cocoa before serving for an elegant appearance. You can also add some fresh fruits, like strawberries or raspberries, for a contrast of flavors and colors.
Possible variations:
- Try using Greek yogurt for a creamier and richer texture.
- You can also add crushed nuts or hazelnuts between the layers of biscuits for extra crunch.
- If you want a more intense rum flavor, add more drops of rum essence, but be careful not to make it too strong.
This yogurt and biscuit cake is an excellent choice for those who want a quick, simple, and flavorful dessert. Its color and texture will delight any table, and the combination of ingredients makes it a favorite for everyone! Enjoy every slice with a smile!
