To prepare a delicious feta cheese potato recipe, you will need a few essential ingredients, as well as a little patience to transform them into a savory dish. Start by peeling the potatoes, making sure to choose a variety that is best suited for cooking. I recommend red potatoes or new potatoes, as they have a finer texture and hold up well during cooking. Cut the potatoes into cubes; I prefer to cut them lengthwise into eighths to get evenly sized pieces that will cook faster and absorb flavors better.

The next step is to boil them in salted water. This will not only make them tastier but will also help maintain a pleasant texture. After about 10-15 minutes of boiling, check if they are ready, and when they are soft but not mushy, drain them carefully. While the potatoes are boiling, prepare a baking dish that you grease with butter to prevent the potatoes from sticking.

Once the potatoes are drained, place them in the greased dish, adding the remaining butter cut into cubes to enhance the flavor. Now is the time to add the cumin flour, which you have crushed with a bronze pestle to release its intense aroma. Season with salt and pepper to taste, mixing well to ensure all the spices are evenly distributed.

Grate the feta cheese over the potatoes, then add a beaten egg, mixing everything to achieve a homogeneous composition. Pour this mixture over the potatoes in the dish and bake for about 10 minutes at maximum heat to achieve a golden and appetizing crust. During this time, the aroma of the cheese will blend perfectly with that of the potatoes, creating a truly delicious dish.

Before serving, finely chop the fresh parsley, which will add a note of freshness and vibrant color to the dish. Sprinkle the parsley over the potatoes, and for an extra creaminess, add a tablespoon of sour cream alongside the potatoes on the plate. However, I chose not to add it, as I served the potatoes as a side dish rather than a main course.
