Tabbouleh salad is a traditional Middle Eastern salad, appreciated for its fresh taste and combination of healthy ingredients. This recipe is not only an excellent choice for a light meal but also a perfect accompaniment to various dishes, being full of vitamins and nutrients.

The first step in preparing this delicious salad is washing the bulgur wheat under a stream of cold water. This process helps remove impurities and dust, ensuring that we enjoy a clean and healthy ingredient. After washing it well, we drain it and prepare to hydrate it. We squeeze the juice from two fresh lemons, ensuring we get a tangy and flavorful juice.

In a large bowl, we place the bulgur wheat and add the lemon juice, gently mixing to ensure that all the bulgur is well coated. Now, we let this mixture sit for about 45 minutes, during which the bulgur will absorb the lemon juice, becoming soft and flavorful.

In the meantime, we take care of the other ingredients. We finely chop the parsley, mint, tomatoes, and green onions. These vegetables will not only add a fresh flavor but also an appealing look to the salad. Once the bulgur is ready, we add the chopped vegetables on top. We mix carefully, ensuring that all the ingredients are well incorporated.

For an extra flavor boost, we can add salt and, if desired, more lemon juice, depending on personal preferences. We can also experiment with various other vegetables, such as grated carrots, sliced cucumbers, or colorful bell peppers, thus giving the salad a note of diversity and interesting textures.

For those who want an alternative to bulgur, it is possible to use quinoa, couscous, or even chopped cauliflower or broccoli, adapting the recipe to everyone's preferences. Personally, this salad is one of my favorites, and the combination with hummus (chickpea dip) turns every meal into a true feast.

Served cold, Tabbouleh salad is an excellent choice for hot summer days or as a side dish for grilled dishes. Enjoy your meal!
