Welcome to our colorful and flavorful kitchen! Today, we will prepare a delicious colorful layer cake, perfect for any special occasion. This recipe is not just a dessert, but a cooking experience that will transform a simple meal into a feast of flavors and textures.

Total preparation time: 2 hours and 15 minutes
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Baking time: 45 minutes
Number of servings: 12

Ingredients:

For the base:
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup of sugar (approximately 200 g)
- 2 cups of flour (approximately 250 g)
- 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa (approximately 30 g)

For the syrup:
- 700 ml water
- 2 cups of sugar (approximately 400 g)
- 1 essence of rum

For the cream:
- 3 eggs
- 250 ml milk
- 1 cup of sugar (approximately 200 g)
- 1 package of margarine (250 g)
- 1 essence of vanilla
- 1 packet of gelatin
- 2 packets of vanilla
- 50 ml whiskey

For decoration:
- 250 ml Hulala whipped cream

Preparation:

Step 1: Preparing the base
We start with preparing the base, which will be the foundation of this wonderful cake. Separate the egg whites from the yolks. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites with a mixer on high speed until you achieve a stiff foam. Then, gradually add the sugar, continuing to mix until the mixture becomes shiny and firm.

In another bowl, mix the yolks with a pinch of salt. Once the egg whites are ready, carefully add them over the yolks, gently folding with a spatula to avoid losing air from the mixture.

Sift the flour and cocoa together and add them gradually to the egg mixture. Mix everything carefully until you obtain a homogeneous batter. Pour the batter into a baking pan lined with parchment paper and place it in the preheated oven at 180°C for about 45 minutes. Check if it is baked using a toothpick – it should come out clean.

Step 2: Preparing the syrup
Meanwhile, we prepare the syrup. Put the water and sugar in a saucepan and let it boil for about 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. Once the syrup has boiled, let it cool slightly and add the essence of rum. This will give the cake a subtle and pleasant aroma.

Step 3: The delicious cream
In another bowl, combine the milk, sugar, and margarine. Place all these on the heat and bring to a boil. Once it starts boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the hydrated gelatin (according to the instructions on the package) and the yolks. Mix quickly on high speed until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

In another bowl, beat the egg whites until they become stiff foam and add them to the milk mixture, but only after it has cooled. Now, add the whiskey and the essence of lemon, gently mixing to integrate all the ingredients.

Step 4: Assembling the cake
Once the base has cooled, cut it into three layers. Place the first layer on a platter and generously soak it with the previously prepared syrup. Add half of the cream obtained and level it well. Then, add the second layer of base, soak it again, and add the remaining cream. Cover with the last layer of base and ensure it fits perfectly.

Wrap the cake well with plastic wrap and let it cool in the fridge for about 1.5 hours. This step is essential to allow the flavors to blend and the cake to stabilize.

Step 5: Finishing with whipped cream
After the cooling time has expired, remove the cake from the fridge. Whip the Hulala cream until it becomes firm and use it to decorate the top and sides of the cake. You can be creative here – use a pastry bag to create decorative shapes or simply smooth it with a spatula.

Step 6: Serving and enjoyment
The colorful layer cake is now ready to be savored! You can serve it alongside a fragrant coffee or a delicate tea to highlight its refined taste. If you want to impress even more, add some fresh fruits or a chocolate sauce on top.

Useful tips:
- Make sure the ingredients are at room temperature for better homogenization.
- You can replace the whiskey with another essence of alcoholic beverage, such as cognac, to create a different flavor.
- The cake keeps well in the fridge, so it is perfect to be prepared a day before serving.
- If you want to add a touch of warmth, try using a bit of cinnamon in the syrup.

Frequently asked questions:
1. Can I use butter instead of margarine?
Yes, you can use butter, but keep in mind that it will slightly change the texture and taste.

2. How can I make the cake less sweet?
Reduce the amount of sugar in the syrup and cream by 25%, and the taste will be balanced.

3. What can I do with the leftover base?
You can turn the leftover base into cake truffles by adding a bit of cream and forming balls that you can roll in cocoa.

This colorful layer cake is not just a dessert; it is a true culinary masterpiece, a combination of textures and flavors that will delight everyone! So, don't wait any longer, put on your apron and let's cook together! Enjoy your meal!
