Another Kind of Hamburger

Ingredients: - 200 g ground beef - 1 round hamburger bun - 1 slice of "cheddar" cheese (I used provolone) - 1 tomato - 1 red onion - 1 leaf of green lettuce (washed and dried) - mayonnaise, ketchup - salt, pepper - olive oil

The grill heats up to maximum temperature, ensuring that it will provide a perfect crust for the burgers. The meat for the burgers, preferably beef, is seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance its natural flavor. This is essential, as we want the taste of the meat to be the star of this dish. While the grill is heating up, we take care of the red onion. It is sliced into thin rings and then placed in a pan with a little olive oil. Salt and pepper are sprinkled to intensify the flavor. The onion is cooked over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it becomes translucent and soft, with a pleasant golden hue. When ready, it is removed from the pan and set aside.

Once the grill is well heated, it is brushed with a little oil to prevent the meat from sticking. The burgers are carefully placed on the grill, leaving enough space between them to cook evenly. They are left for 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on everyone's preference for doneness. As the burgers brown, the buns are prepared. They are sliced in half and brushed with a splash of olive oil, then placed cut-side down on the grill or in the pan with the onions, leaving them for a few seconds until they take on a golden color and a crispy texture.

When the burgers are nearly done, a slice of cheese is added on top of each patty to melt slightly in the last minutes of cooking. This detail makes the burger even tastier, adding a creamy cheese that will perfectly combine with the other ingredients. On the half of the bun spread with mayonnaise, the lettuce leaf is placed, followed by the slice of fresh tomato, the burger with melted cheese, and the caramelized onions. It is closed with the other half of the bun, thus completing a delicious burger full of flavors and textures.

For a personal touch, I chose to deviate from the original recipe by spreading the first half of the bun with mayonnaise and the other half with guacamole, thus achieving a wonderful contrast of flavors. I omitted the lettuce and tomato, but the taste was just as delicious. Enjoy your meal!
