Pasta Salad
Ingredients: Mini farfalle pasta (bow ties) 1 can of corn 7-8 slices of salami, ham, or whatever you want (it can even be leftover roast) 2-3 pickles (or more if you want it more sour) 1 red bell pepper mayonnaise green onion
To prepare a delicious and refreshing pasta salad, start by boiling the pasta in salted water with a small cube of butter. The butter will help prevent the pasta from sticking together, giving it a nicer texture. Make sure to follow the instructions on the pasta package to achieve an al dente consistency, perfect for salad. While the pasta is boiling, take this time to prepare the other ingredients.
Open a can of corn and drain the kernels carefully to remove excess liquid. These sweet kernels will add a fresh and crunchy note to your salad. Continue by chopping the pickles into small cubes. They will provide a pleasant acidity and a crunchy texture, perfect for contrasting with the pasta. Similarly, chop the bell pepper into small cubes, making sure to choose a colorful variety for an attractive appearance. If you are using salami or ham, cut them into small pieces as well, so they integrate perfectly into the salad. Finally, chop the green onion, using both the white and green parts, to add extra flavor.
If you prefer not to use store-bought mayonnaise, you can quickly make homemade mayonnaise. In a small bowl, whisk an egg yolk with a little mustard, salt, and oil, gradually adding the oil to achieve a perfect emulsion. This will give your salad a rich and creamy taste.
Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and let it cool slightly. Then, place it in a large bowl. Add the corn, pickles, bell pepper, salami or ham, as well as the green onion. Finally, add the mayonnaise, whether it’s store-bought or homemade. Carefully mix all the ingredients, ensuring that each piece of pasta is well coated with mayonnaise and the flavors blend perfectly.
