Lenten Pizza
Ingredients: 400 g flour, 3 tablespoons oil, 1 packet dry yeast, 200 ml mineral water, 1 vegetable pâté, 1 can of mushrooms, 1 can of peeled tomatoes, corn, 200 g olives, 1 onion, ketchup, salt, oregano, ground ginger.
To prepare a delicious pizza, we start by making a perfect crust, which will form the base of this recipe. In a large bowl, we add 500 grams of white wheat flour, which will provide the necessary structure for the dough. In the center of the flour, we make a well, where we will add 7 grams of dry yeast. To activate the yeast, we put in a teaspoon of sugar and gradually pour in 150 ml of lukewarm mineral water. We gently mix to dissolve the yeast and sugar, then let the mixture sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Once the yeast is activated, we add 50 ml of olive oil for a richer flavor, and a teaspoon of salt, then we start kneading while gradually adding the remaining mineral water (about 150 ml). We knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes elastic and smooth. We cover the bowl with a damp towel and let the dough rise for 30 minutes in a warm place until it doubles in size.
After the dough has risen, we prepare to roll it out. We sprinkle a little flour on the work surface and, using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a round shape, making sure it is of even thickness. We transfer the dough to a baking tray lined with parchment paper, making sure to leave a little dough on the edges to form a delicious crust. We use a fork to prick the dough in several places; this will prevent air bubbles from forming during baking.
Once we have prepared the crust, we take care of the filling. We put a generous layer of vegetable spread on the surface of the dough, making sure it is evenly distributed. Then, we cut a few fresh tomatoes into cubes and place them over the spread, adding sliced mushrooms, which will add a savory flavor. For extra flavor, we add some sliced green and black olives, and sweet corn kernels, which bring a hint of sweetness.
To enhance the flavors, we sprinkle dried oregano and a pinch of ginger on top, which will provide a subtle and interesting taste. We preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius, and when it's ready, we place the pizza in the oven. We bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust becomes golden and crispy. When the pizza is ready, we take it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it and serving.
