The base is the perfect foundation for a delicious dessert, and the recipe below will guide you step by step in creating a special cake that will impress any sweet lover. Start by preparing the necessary ingredients: 200 g of butter, 200 g of sugar, a packet of vanilla, four eggs, 300 g of flour, a pinch of salt, and a packet of baking powder. Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature to achieve a homogeneous mixture.

In a large bowl, add the soft butter and mix it with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 3 minutes until it becomes creamy and fluffy. Gradually add the sugar and vanilla, continuing to mix until the mixture becomes homogeneous and slightly lighter in color. It’s time to incorporate the previously beaten eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is well incorporated before adding the next.

In another bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and salt, then gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing with a spatula or on low speed until everything is well combined. Don’t overmix, as the base may become dense.

Prepare a round cake pan with a diameter of 24 cm, greasing it with oil and sprinkling flour, or you can use parchment paper for easier removal. Pour the mixture into the pan and level the surface. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius and bake the base for about 30 minutes. At the end of the baking time, use a toothpick to check if the base is baked; if the toothpick comes out clean, then it’s ready.

After the base is baked, let it cool on a rack. Meanwhile, prepare the whipped cream. In a cold bowl, whip 400 ml of cream until it becomes fluffy, gradually adding 100 g of powdered sugar and a packet of vanilla, continuing to whip until the cream becomes firm.

Once the base has cooled completely, carefully cut it in half. Spread the first half with a generous layer of strawberry jam, preferably homemade for an authentic taste. Then, spread a layer of whipped cream on the second half. Place the half with jam on top of the one with whipped cream, ensuring the edges are aligned.

For a pleasant visual effect, let the jam drip slightly over the edges of the cake, so that each slice is an explosion of flavors. You can decorate with pieces of fresh strawberries or a bit of whipped cream on top for an attractive appearance. This cake is perfect for any occasion, from birthdays to family gatherings, and will surely become a favorite for everyone. Enjoy!
