To create a delicious cake, the beginning of the recipe is essential. The first step is to beat the egg whites until foamy. Use an electric mixer on high speed to achieve a firm and shiny foam. Make sure the bowl is completely clean and dry, as any trace of fat can prevent the egg whites from whipping properly. While you are working on the egg whites, it's time to sift the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder into a separate bowl. This sifting is crucial, as it helps aerate the ingredients and ensures a fluffy cake.

In another bowl, cream the sugar with the softened butter until you get a creamy and homogeneous mixture. Add the egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each addition. This step will give your cake a rich texture and delicious flavor. After incorporating all the egg yolks, start adding the sifted flour mixture, alternating with the beaten egg whites. It is important to fold in the egg whites with gentle, up-and-down motions to avoid deflating them. Once you have a homogeneous mixture, pour the batter into a pan lined with oil and flour.

Preheat the oven to 185 degrees Celsius and bake the cake for about 40 minutes. Check if it is baked using a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Once cooled, cut the cake into two equal parts. The first layer is soaked with half of the previously prepared syrup, which can be made from boiled water and sugar, possibly with a splash of rum or vanilla essence for extra flavor.

Whip 100 ml of unsweetened cream and evenly spread it over the first layer of cake. Then, slice 3 bananas and drizzle them with lemon juice to prevent oxidation. Arrange these banana slices over the entire surface of the cake layer. Cover with the second layer of cake, which will be soaked with the remaining syrup. Next, whip 300 ml of cream with powdered sugar until you achieve a firm consistency. Spread this cream over the cake using a spatula.

For decoration, slice the other 3 bananas into rounds and drizzle them with lemon juice. Arrange them nicely on top of the cream to create an attractive and appetizing look. This cake, with layers of soft cake, airy cream, and fresh bananas, will surely become a delight on your table. Enjoy your meal!
