Cafe Frappe
Ingredients: 4 tall glasses: 4 teaspoons of instant coffee, 4 tablespoons of sugar, 12 ice cubes, 200 g whipped cream, 400 ml cold sparkling water, 4 teaspoons of rum
To prepare a delicious and refreshing drink, the first step is to ensure that we have all the ingredients on hand. We start by crushing the ice. It is important to make sure that it is well crushed so that it integrates perfectly into the drink. After obtaining fine ice, we will transfer it to a container and keep it in the freezer until needed.
In a larger cup, we now take care of the drink's base. We dissolve the instant coffee and sugar by adding 5-6 tablespoons of warm water. It is essential to use warm water, as this will help dissolve the ingredients quickly. With the help of a mixer, preferably a mini one like the one from Amigo that we received with our purchase, we start mixing. This step is crucial; we need to beat the mixture well until it becomes frothy, increases in volume, and the color turns into a pleasant cream shade. The aeration process will give the drink a fluffy texture and an intense taste.
After achieving the ideal foam, it is time to divide it evenly among the four prepared glasses. Ensuring that each glass receives the same amount of foam, we will continue to fill the glasses with cold water, leaving a little room to add the ice.
Now, we come with the crushed ice we prepared at the beginning. We distribute it evenly in the four glasses, giving a special refreshing note to our drink. The last detail will make the difference, so we can focus on presentation. We decorate each glass with a generous layer of whipped cream on top, which not only looks good but also adds a delicious creaminess to each sip. For an extra touch of freshness and a pleasant appearance, we add a few fresh mint leaves, which will also provide a delightful fragrance.
