To prepare a delicious dish with nettles, it is essential to carefully choose the plants. Look for young nettles with green, juicy leaves, as these are the tastiest. After you have picked them, wash them in several cold waters, making sure to remove any traces of sand or impurities. It is important that the water becomes clear, a sign that the nettles are clean and ready for cooking.

In a large pot, add about 3 liters of water and bring it to a boil. When the water starts to boil, add the nettles and let them cook for about 20 minutes. This process will soften the leaves and extract the intense flavors from them. After the nettles have boiled, carefully drain them, but do not throw away the remaining liquid, as it will be used later to enhance the flavor of the dish.

Once the nettles have cooled slightly, chop them finely. This step is important to perfectly integrate the nettles into the dish. In a pan, heat a little oil and add a finely chopped onion. Let the onion sauté until it becomes golden and transparent, releasing its aroma. Then, add the chopped nettles and a tablespoon of Delikat, mixing well to combine the flavors. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes, occasionally adding the liquid from boiling the nettles to maintain moisture and enhance the flavor.

After the nettles are well incorporated with the onion, add the washed rice. Make sure the rice is of good quality, preferably long-grain, which absorbs flavors well. Stir to evenly distribute the ingredients, then let it boil. If you notice that the liquid has completely evaporated, do not hesitate to add a little water so that the rice has enough liquid to cook. This will help achieve a creamy and flavorful dish.

Once the rice is cooked, check the seasoning and adjust to taste. This nettle dish can be served both hot and cold, making it an excellent option for a light lunch or a quick dinner. The fresh flavors of the nettles blend perfectly with the texture of the rice, creating a healthy and tasty dish that will delight your taste buds. Enjoy this delicacy alongside a fresh green salad or, why not, as a side dish to a main course. Bon appétit!
