Spaghetti with sauce
Spaghetti is a versatile and extremely popular dish, perfect for moments when time is limited, but flavor should not suffer. We start by preparing the necessary ingredients for this delicious recipe. So, put a large pot of water on the stove and add a tablespoon of salt. The salt will not only flavor the pasta but also help improve its texture.
When the water starts to boil, add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions, usually between 8 and 12 minutes, until al dente. It is important to stir the pasta occasionally to prevent sticking. After the pasta is cooked, drain it in a colander, but save a few tablespoons of the boiling water, as you can use it later to adjust the sauce.
Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. Cut the ham into cubes or thin strips, depending on your preferences. In a large skillet, add a generous piece of butter and let it melt over medium heat. The aroma of melted butter will give a rich flavor to the dish. Once the butter is completely melted, add the ham and sauté it for a few minutes until it becomes golden and crispy. This will add a pleasant texture and savory taste.
After the ham is ready, add 300 ml of water to the skillet. It’s time to intensify the flavors! Once the water starts to boil, add the sauce packet. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to mix well, ensuring the sauce combines evenly with the ham and water in the skillet. Simmer the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly, for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce starts to thicken and becomes creamy.
Once the sauce has reached the desired consistency, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, mixing well to coat them evenly with the sauce. If you want a thinner sauce, you can add a bit of the pasta water you reserved earlier. This step will help bind the flavors and ensure each bite is full of taste.
