Total preparation time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Baking time: 30 minutes
Number of servings: 12
Ingredients for the base:
- 6 eggs
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 tablespoons of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 90 ml of oil
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa
Ingredients for the cream:
- 500 g of sweet cheese (preferably cow cheese)
- 200 g of powdered sugar
- 1 package of butter (approximately 250 g)
Ingredients for the glaze:
- 2 vanilla puddings
- 1 liter of orange Fanta
Step 1: Preparing the base
Start by separating the eggs. Beat the yolks with the sugar until you have a creamy and light-colored mixture. At this stage, add the oil and mix well. In another bowl, combine the flour with the cocoa and baking powder. Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the egg mixture, gently stirring with a spatula to avoid losing air.
Once you have a homogeneous mixture, beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold them into the batter, using a folding motion from top to bottom. This step is essential for obtaining a fluffy and airy base.
Grease a baking tray with oil and dust it with flour to prevent sticking. Pour the batter into the tray and place it in a preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes. Check if it is baked by doing the toothpick test – insert the toothpick in the center of the base, and if it comes out clean, it's ready. Let it cool in the tray.
Step 2: Preparing the cream
While the base is cooling, you can prepare the cream. In a bowl, cream the butter with the powdered sugar until it becomes a fluffy mixture. Add the sweet cheese and continue mixing until you obtain a smooth and lump-free cream. This combination of cheese and butter will give the cake a creamy texture and divine taste.
Spread the cream evenly over the cooled base, ensuring it reaches all corners. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
Step 3: Preparing the glaze
For the Fanta glaze, follow the instructions on the vanilla pudding package, adding Fanta instead of milk. Boil the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens. It is important that the glaze is warm, not hot, when pouring it over the cream cheese to avoid melting it.
Once the glaze reaches the desired consistency, let it cool slightly, then pour it evenly over the cream cheese. Leave the cake in the refrigerator to allow the glaze to set for about 1 hour.
Step 4: Serving
After the glaze has set, cut the cheese and Fanta cake into suitable portions. You can serve it plain or with a dollop of whipped cream on top for an extra touch of elegance. An interesting variation idea is to add a bit of grated orange peel to the cream for an even more intense flavor.
Enjoy this delicacy with your loved ones and relish the compliments you will receive! The cheese and Fanta cake is a dessert that will surely remain in everyone's memories, and your recipe will become one of the most cherished dishes in your culinary repertoire.
