Fresh mix
In the morning, when I'm in the mood for something quick, fresh, and not too labor-intensive, I make a juice from fresh fruits using whatever I have on hand. I've noticed that if I use bananas, oranges, clementines, pineapple, apples, and carrots, it turns out quite thick and substantial, almost like a snack. It doesn’t take long, and if I squeeze the lemon directly over the other fruits, it prevents oxidation and creates a more balanced flavor. The blender does all the work; I just wash, peel, and chop.
Quick Info
Total time: 10-15 minutes
Preparation time: 10-15 minutes
Cooking time: none required
Servings: 3-4 large glasses
Difficulty: easy
Recipe type: fruit juice, breakfast, quick snack
Ingredients
2 bananas
4 clementines
2 oranges
1 lemon
2 carrots
half a pineapple
2 golden apples
Optional: ice cubes, mint leaves
Instructions
1. Wash the fruits and carrots thoroughly. Peel the bananas, oranges, clementines, lemon, pineapple, and carrots. You can leave the apple skins on, but peel them if you prefer.
2. Cut all the fruits and carrots into pieces suitable for the blender. They don’t need to be too small, just enough not to strain the blender.
3. Place everything in the blender. I usually start with the soft fruits (bananas, oranges), then add the apples, carrots, and pineapple.
4. Squeeze the lemon over the other ingredients to balance the flavor and prevent the juice from oxidizing too quickly.
5. Blend for about 5 minutes until the texture is smooth. If the blender is weaker, you can stop occasionally and stir with a spoon.
6. If desired, add a few ice cubes and mint leaves directly into the blender or in the glass, as you prefer.
7. Pour the juice into glasses and serve immediately. It tastes much better when it’s fresh.
Why I make this recipe often
I love it because it’s quick and doesn’t require any rare ingredients. The juice is thick enough that I can drink it as breakfast or a snack. The fruits are always available, and the combination is neither too sweet nor too sour.
Tips and Variations
Tips
If you want a smoother texture, you can strain the juice through a sieve, but you’ll lose some fiber.
If the juice seems too thick, add a little cold water before blending.
Substitutions
You can swap golden apples for any type of apples you have.
If you don’t have clementines, use extra oranges.
Canned pineapple works, but it’s sweeter.
Variations
For a different flavor, add a small piece of fresh ginger.
You can also add a teaspoon of honey if you want it sweeter, but I don’t feel the need.
Serving Ideas
Serve it directly in glasses, possibly with a few ice cubes and mint leaves for presentation.
You can also take it on the go in a tightly sealed bottle, but I recommend drinking it the same day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a juicer instead of a blender?
You can, but with a juicer, you lose the pulp and the juice is thinner. Using a blender keeps it thicker, like a smoothie.
If I don’t have fresh pineapple, can I use canned pineapple?
Yes, that works, but be careful with the sweet syrup. If using canned, drain it well beforehand.
What can I do if it’s too sour or too sweet?
Adjust to taste: add another banana for sweetness or squeeze in another half lemon for acidity. Sometimes bananas aren’t ripe enough, which can change the flavor.
Can I prepare the juice the night before?
I don’t recommend it. The juice oxidizes quickly, the texture changes, and it loses its fresh taste.
Do the carrots need to be cooked beforehand?
No, they are added raw and blend well. If you have a weaker blender, cut them smaller.

Carbohydrates: 27-32 g
Protein: 1-2 g
Fat: under 1 g
Fiber: 3-4 g
The juice is rich in vitamin C, potassium, and fiber (if not strained). The sugar content comes directly from the fruits.
Storage and Reheating
Fruit juice doesn’t store well. If you do have leftovers, keep it in the fridge for no more than 12 hours, covered, and shake well before drinking. It shouldn’t be reheated; consume it cold or at room temperature. It’s best immediately after preparation.
