To prepare a delicious recipe for cream-filled choux pastries, we need a few essential ingredients and a little patience. We start by putting water in a large pot, to which we add a tablespoon of oil and two tablespoons of sugar. We place the pot on medium heat and wait for the mixture to reach boiling point. When the water starts to boil, it's time to add the flour. It is important to pour in the flour all at once, stirring quickly with a spatula or wooden spoon to avoid lumps. We continue to stir vigorously until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pot and forms a compact ball.
After obtaining a homogeneous mixture, we take the pot off the heat and let the dough cool. This step is essential because if we add the eggs when the dough is too hot, they will cook, and the result will not be as desired. When the dough is warm, we can start incorporating the eggs. We add one egg at a time, mixing well after each addition until we obtain a smooth, shiny, and pourable mixture. It is important to ensure that each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.
Once this step is completed, we prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Using a piping bag or a plastic bag with a cut corner, we form evenly sized choux pastries, making sure to leave enough space between them as they will rise in the oven. We preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and, when ready, we place the tray with the choux pastries inside. We bake for 25-30 minutes until they become golden and fluffy.
After baking, it is essential to turn off the oven but leave the choux pastries inside to cool gradually. This will prevent them from deforming. When they have completely cooled, we can fill them with cream. Using the same piping bag, we carefully fill them, being careful not to break them. If desired, we can decorate each choux with whipped cream, adding extra flavor and an attractive appearance. These cream-filled choux pastries are ideal for serving at parties or as a dessert for a festive meal, being not only tasty but also very appealing. Enjoy them with pleasure!
