Pistachio Biscuit Salam Recipe
Pistachio Biscuit Salami - a reinvented classic dessert
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cooling time: 2-3 hours
Total: 3 hours 30 minutes
Servings: 8-10 slices
Biscuit salami is a dessert that reminds us of childhood. This simple and quick recipe is perfect for delighting both young and old. Today, we suggest adding a touch of sophistication to the classic recipe by incorporating pistachios, which will give it a crunchy texture and a unique flavor.
Necessary ingredients:
- 500 g plain biscuits (preferably digestive or "Petit Beurre")
- 200 g butter (preferably at room temperature)
- 100 g pistachios (shelled and chopped)
- 10 walnuts (crushed)
- 12 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- Rum essence (to taste)
- Powdered sugar for decoration
- Coconut (optional, for a more exotic look)
Step by step to a perfect dessert:
1. Preparing the ingredients: Start by chopping the biscuits in a food processor. Make sure not to turn them into powder, leaving some larger pieces for a pleasant texture. Divide the biscuits into two equal parts to create the two layers of the salami.
2. The white part: In a small saucepan, add 6 tablespoons of sugar and half a glass of water. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar completely dissolves, forming a syrup. Once the syrup is ready, add half of the butter (100 g), the chopped pistachios, crushed walnuts, and rum essence. Mix well until you get a homogeneous composition.
3. Adding the biscuits: Take half of the chopped biscuits and add them to the pistachio mixture. Mix well so that the biscuits are perfectly integrated into the composition.
4. The black part: Repeat the same process for the black part, adding the other 6 tablespoons of sugar, the remaining butter, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and rum essence. Ensure that the mixture is well homogenized, then add half of the remaining biscuits.
5. Forming the salami: On a sheet of aluminum foil, alternately place the two mixtures (the white and the black), forming a roll. Roll the foil tightly to obtain a uniform shape. If you want a more sophisticated appearance, you can sprinkle powdered sugar and coconut on the outside of the salami.
6. Cooling: Wrap the roll well in foil and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours. This step is crucial, as cooling will help the salami firm up and retain its shape.
7. Serving: Once the cooling time has expired, remove the biscuit salami from the foil and slice it. You can serve these slices plain or alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious contrast.
Useful tips:
- Make sure the butter is at room temperature for easier homogenization.
- You can experiment with other types of nuts (almonds, cashews) or add chocolate pieces for an extra flavor boost.
- If you want a less sweet dessert, you can reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe.
This pistachio biscuit salami recipe is not only easy to make, but also a dessert that will impress with its taste and appearance. So, unleash your creativity and enjoy every slice in the company of loved ones!
