Preparation time: 30 minutes
Baking time: 10 minutes
Total time: 40 minutes
Number of servings: 12

Ingredients:

For the sponge cake:
- 1 pack of sponge cake sheets (4 sheets)

For the milk cream:
- 1 liter of fresh milk
- 100 g of starch (approximately 4 tablespoons)
- 4 tablespoons of sugar
- 100 g of white chocolate (broken into pieces)
- 250 g of butter (or Rama margarine, at room temperature)
- 150 g of powdered sugar

For the glaze:
- 200 g of milk chocolate (broken into pieces)
- 5 tablespoons of milk
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 150 g of butter (or Unirea margarine)

Preparation:

1. Milk cream:
In a bowl, combine the 4 tablespoons of sugar with the starch. It is important to mix well to avoid lumps. Then, gradually add 150 ml of milk, stirring continuously until you obtain a smooth paste.
In a saucepan, pour the remaining milk (850 ml) and add the broken white chocolate. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is nearly boiling. It is essential not to let the milk boil vigorously to avoid burning. Once the chocolate has melted, reduce the heat and add the starch mixture, stirring constantly with a whisk. Continue to mix until the cream thickens enough that when you scrape the bottom of the pot with a spoon, you can see the bottom.
Once thickened, let the cream cool slightly. In another bowl, mix the butter (or margarine) with the powdered sugar until it becomes a fluffy cream. Gradually add the cooled milk cream and mix well until combined.

2. Preparing the glaze:
In a bain-marie container, combine the milk chocolate, milk, sugar, and butter. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until everything melts and combines into a smooth cream. Let the glaze cool slightly before using.

3. Assembling the cake:
Place the first sponge cake sheet on a platter or in a baking dish. Spread a generous layer of milk cream evenly over this sheet. Continue with the second sponge cake sheet, then repeat the process: another layer of cream and finally place the third sheet.
After placing all the sheets, pour the chocolate glaze over the last sponge cake sheet, making sure it is evenly distributed. Let the cake cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for a few hours (ideally overnight) to set well.

4. Serving:
After the cake has been in the fridge, you can cut it into cubes or squares, as preferred. It is ideal to be served with a cup of coffee or a fragrant tea, and a dollop of whipped cream on top would add an extra touch of elegance.

Practical tips:
- Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature before starting preparation for better homogenization.
- You can replace white chocolate with dark chocolate for a more intense flavor.
- If you want a special taste, add a little vanilla or rum essence to the milk cream.

Nutritional benefits:
The milk cubes dessert contains milk, which is an important source of calcium and protein, helping to maintain bone health. Butter and sugar provide quick energy, but it is best to consume the dessert in moderation, considering its calorie content.

Frequently asked questions:
- Can I use plant-based milk instead of cow's milk?
Yes, you can use almond or coconut milk for a vegan option, but the taste will be different.
- How can I store the cake?
Keep the cake covered in the fridge, and its shelf life is approximately 4-5 days.

Possible variations:
- Instead of white chocolate, you can experiment with milk or dark chocolate, thus adapting the dessert's taste to your preferences.
- Add dried fruits or ground nuts to the milk cream for an extra texture and flavor.

Milk cubes are not just a simple dessert, but a culinary experience that brings joy and pleasant memories. With every bite, you will bring a smile to the faces of your loved ones, and this recipe will surely become a staple in your culinary repertoire!
