For a delicious snack, perfect for parties or gatherings with friends, we propose a simple and savory recipe for stuffed mushrooms that will bring culinary joy to everyone. We start by choosing fresh, similarly sized mushrooms, so they are easy to handle and serve. It is important not to wash the mushrooms, as they absorb water, and instead of frying them, you risk boiling them. If absolutely necessary, you can carefully peel them, ensuring they remain intact.

After cleaning the mushrooms, carefully remove the stems. These should not be thrown away, as they can be used in other recipes, such as soups or sauces, adding extra flavor. Now it’s time to fill the mushroom caps with a savory mixture. A classic combination is finely chopped ham and grated cheese, but here you have the freedom to experiment with various ingredients. For example, you can add freshly chopped dill, green onions, or even olives for an extra burst of flavor. I chose a simple filling, putting only ham in one cap and half a scallion in the other to add a note of freshness.

Once you have filled all the mushrooms, it’s time to prepare them for frying. Stack two caps on top of each other and secure them with a toothpick, ensuring the filling won’t spill out during cooking. The next step is to dip them in a mixture of flour and egg, using one tablespoon of flour for one egg. This crust will help achieve a crispy and golden texture. After covering them with flour and egg, roll them in breadcrumbs, making sure they are well coated.

For frying, heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully place the mushrooms in the pan, being careful not to overcrowd them, and fry until they are golden and crispy on all sides.
