Boiled Eggs, Soft (Runny)
Ingredients: -2 eggs / person -water -salt or a little vinegar
To prepare perfectly textured boiled eggs, it is essential to follow a few simple but important steps. Start by carefully washing the eggshell under a stream of cold water. This not only removes impurities but also ensures the necessary hygiene in the cooking process. If you notice persistent spots on the shell, gently rub them with fine salt to clean them completely. Once the eggs are clean, prepare a generous pot to boil them. Fill it with water, adding a teaspoon of salt, which will help coagulate the proteins in the egg white and facilitate peeling.
Place the pot on the heat and let it reach the boiling point. Once the water is boiling, you can choose one of the methods for cooking soft-boiled eggs. The first method involves reducing the heat to a minimum, then adding the eggs with the help of a spoon, being careful not to crack the shell. Cover the pot with a lid and let the eggs cook for 4 minutes, without allowing the water to boil again. After this time, remove the eggs and cool them under a stream of cold water to stop the cooking process.
The second method is similar but with a slight variation: after adding the eggs to the water, cover the pot and put it back on the heat. Let it boil for 3 minutes from the moment the water started to boil. Immediately after the time has expired, remove the eggs and rinse them under cold water.
For the third method, add the eggs to boiling water, cover the pot, and let it sit on high heat for 1 minute. Then, set the pot aside and let the eggs rest in hot water for 5 minutes before removing them and cooling them under cold water.
Once the eggs have cooled, it’s time to peel them. Remove the shell from one-third of the height of the egg, being careful to leave the top intact so it can be served in egg cups. Place the eggs on a plate or a special stand and sprinkle a drop of salt on top. These boiled eggs are perfect for a delicious breakfast or as an appetizer, served warm, with a soft texture and savory taste. Enjoy!
