Pasta with melted cheese and apples
Ingredients: We need: -400 g spaghetti -300 g melted cheese -150 g sour cream -3-4 large apples -1 tablespoon butter (2 tablespoons oil) -salt -white pepper -1-2 cloves of garlic
To prepare a delicious recipe of spaghetti with apples and cheese sauce, the first steps begin with boiling the pasta. In a large pot, add water to boil and sprinkle in a teaspoon of salt. When the water reaches a boiling point, introduce the spaghetti vertically, without stirring immediately. This method allows the pasta to gradually sink into the water as it boils. Let them boil for 3-4 bubbles, then cover the pot with a lid and turn off the heat. After 5-10 minutes, your pasta should be perfectly cooked. Once boiled, drain them in a colander and let them cool slightly.
Meanwhile, prepare the apples. Wash them well, remove the skin, seeds, and core, then cut them into cubes. To prevent oxidation and darkening, place the apple cubes in a bowl of cold water. I prefer not to use lemon juice, as I don’t want the flavor to influence the taste of the dish. From the total amount of apples, keep ½ apple for decoration, while the rest will be sautéed. In a pan, heat a tablespoon of butter or oil and add the apple cubes, allowing them to sauté until they become slightly golden and tender. After they have been sautéed, separate half of the apples and let them cool.
In a bowl, mash the melted cheese, whether it is in triangles or in a tube, and mix it with sour cream, adjusting the amount of sour cream to taste. I usually use six tablespoons to achieve a richer sauce. Transfer the cheese and sour cream mixture to a pot over very low heat, stirring continuously to obtain a smooth cream. Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded, let it cool in a covered bowl.
Once the sauce has cooled, add the sautéed apples that you set aside. Adjust the sauce with salt, pepper, and crushed garlic, being careful not to overdo the garlic so as not to overpower the other flavors. The drained spaghetti is added to the mixture of apples and sauce, gently mixing to coat them evenly. Finally, serve the spaghetti on plates, garnishing them with thin slices of apple for an extra freshness and appealing look. This recipe is not only an unusual choice but also an explosion of flavors, perfect for a special dinner or an unconventional lunch. Enjoy every bite and relish the unique combination of pasta, apples, and cheese!
