To prepare a delicious profiterole, we will start by creating a perfect dough, which will be the base of this savory dessert. In a large pot, we bring a sufficient amount of water (about 250 ml) to a boil together with 100 ml of oil and a pinch of salt. This mixture will give the dough a slightly crispy texture on the outside. Once the water and oil have started to boil, we take the pot off the heat and add all the flour (about 150 g) in one go. Using a spatula or a wooden spoon, we mix vigorously to thoroughly combine the ingredients. It is important to ensure that no lumps of flour remain.

After mixing well, we put the pot back on the heat for about two minutes, continuing to stir constantly. This step will help evaporate the excess moisture from the dough, making it more consistent. Once the dough has cooled slightly, we will start adding the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. You will notice how the dough becomes increasingly malleable and smoother, which will contribute to the rise of the pastries during baking.

We prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper or greased with a little butter. Using a spoon or a piping bag, we take a portion of the dough and form round balls, making sure to leave a little space between them, as they will expand in the oven. We preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and place the tray inside. It is essential not to open the oven door in the first 20 minutes to avoid affecting the baking process. The pastries are ready when they become golden and slightly firm to the touch. After taking them out of the oven, we let them cool on a wire rack.

In the meantime, we prepare the vanilla cream by following the instructions on the packet, and melt the chocolate to obtain a delicious glaze. Once the pastries have cooled, we carefully cut them in half and fill them with the vanilla cream. Then, we decorate them with melted chocolate, giving them an appetizing appearance. We leave them in the fridge to let the cream set.

To finish this delicious profiterole, we prepare with vanilla ice cream, Finetti sticks, and whipped cream. In a bowl or a small dish, we add two filled pastries, a generous scoop of ice cream, and a dollop of whipped cream. We glaze everything with melted chocolate and add a Finetti stick as decoration. This dessert is a true delight for the taste buds. Enjoy!
