To prepare these delicious chocolate croissants, start by taking the dough out of the freezer and letting it thaw at room temperature. This step is essential because the dough needs to be soft and flexible enough to be easily shaped. While the dough is thawing, you can prepare the chocolate, which you will cut into 16 equal pieces. I advise you to use good quality chocolate, as it will significantly influence the final taste of the croissants.

Once the chocolate is cut, you can focus on the dough. Roll it out gently on a clean surface, well dusted with flour, so it doesn't stick. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, ensuring that each portion is of similar size to achieve uniform croissants. Then, cut each piece diagonally, forming triangles. These will be the base of your croissants, and the triangular shape is essential to allow the dough to roll properly.

At the base of each triangle, place a piece of chocolate. Here you can be creative; if you wish, you can add some chopped nuts or coconut flakes for an extra texture and flavor. Roll each triangle of dough starting from its base, being careful to form a tight roll, but not too tight, to allow the dough to rise during baking. After you have finished rolling all the croissants, place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Make sure to leave enough space between them, as they will rise considerably in size during baking.

Once you have placed all the croissants on the tray, preheat the oven to medium heat. Once the temperature is right, put the tray in the oven and let them bake for about 20-25 minutes. You will know they are ready when they turn golden brown and have a crispy, appetizing crust. At this point, the delicious aroma of melted chocolate will fill the entire kitchen, and the culinary indulgence will turn into a true delight. After you take them out of the oven, let them cool slightly before enjoying. You can serve them plain or with a dusting of powdered sugar on top for an elegant look. These croissants are perfect for a delicious breakfast or a snack between meals!
