We start by preparing the meatballs, a delicious and versatile dish, perfect for a family dinner or to impress guests. We put minced pork or beef in a bowl, depending on our preferences, and add fresh parsley, washed and finely chopped, which will provide extra flavor and freshness. Meanwhile, we take care of the potatoes which will bring a soft texture to the meatballs; we peel them and grate them, so they can be easily integrated into the mixture.

We add an egg, which will bind the ingredients, soaked bread crumbs in milk and well-drained, to ensure a perfect consistency. We don’t forget salt and pepper to taste, for an extra touch of flavor. We mix all the ingredients well, so that the flavors combine harmoniously. We cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes, during which time the flavors will intensify.

After letting the mixture chill, we start forming the meatballs. We take suitable portions from the meat mixture, roll them in flour to get a crispy crust when frying, and fry them in hot oil. It’s important not to overcrowd the pan to ensure the meatballs cook evenly. Once they are browned on all sides, we remove them onto a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.

To finish the dish, we grease a baking dish with butter and carefully place the fried meatballs. We add cubes of telemea cheese, which will melt beautifully in the oven, bringing a salty and creamy taste. We cover everything with a Bechamel sauce, made from butter, flour, and milk, which will enrich the texture and bind the ingredients.

We place the dish in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the aroma that will spread throughout the house. After this time, we take the dish out, sprinkle fresh parsley on top for a vibrant look and fresh taste, and put it back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

When the time is up, the meatballs with telemea cheese are ready to be served. They are enjoyed hot, alongside a fresh salad or a side of mashed potatoes, making this dish an ideal choice for any meal. Enjoy your meal!
