Garlic Mushroom Recipe - A Simple and Quick Delight

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Total: 25 minutes
Servings: 4

Garlic mushrooms are a delicious and quick dish, ideal for a light dinner or as a side dish alongside a main course. The intense aroma of garlic combined with the succulent texture of the mushrooms will transform this simple dish into a true culinary feast. Let's get started!

Ingredients:

- 500 g mushrooms (champignon or forest mushrooms)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, sliced julienne
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for an extra freshness)

Instructions:

1. Preparing the mushrooms
Start by cleaning the mushrooms with a damp cloth or paper towel. Avoid washing them under water, as they absorb moisture quickly and will lose their flavor. Cut the mushrooms into thick slices of about 1 cm. This will help them brown evenly.

2. Preparing the onion and garlic
Slice the onion into thin scales so that it sautés quickly and evenly. Crush the garlic cloves with a knife or garlic press to release all their flavors.

3. Sauté the onion
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once fully melted, add the sliced onion. Sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes until it becomes golden and translucent. This will add a sweet and aromatic base to the dish.

4. Add the mushrooms
Once the onion is ready, add the sliced mushrooms. Stir well to coat them with butter and onion, then let them cook for 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure they brown evenly. The mushrooms will release water, so don't panic; it will evaporate during cooking.

5. Add the garlic
After the mushrooms have browned nicely, add the crushed garlic. Cook everything for another 1-2 minutes until the garlic turns golden. Be careful not to burn it, as burnt garlic becomes bitter.

6. Season
Add salt and pepper to taste. You can also add a tablespoon of lemon juice to intensify the flavors and provide a pleasant contrast. Stir well.

7. Finishing
Finally, sprinkle the freshly chopped parsley over the mushrooms. This will not only add a splash of color but will also enhance the fresh flavors of the dish.

Serving suggestions:
Serve the garlic mushrooms warm, alongside a slice of toasted bread or as a side dish for grilled meat. You can also use this dish as a filling for omelets or tartines.

Variations:
For an even more intense flavor, you can add a few drops of soy sauce or a few slices of chili pepper. Also, experiment with different types of mushrooms - shiitake, portobello, or pleurotus - to achieve varied tastes.

These garlic mushrooms are not only simple and quick to prepare but also extremely versatile. Try this recipe and enjoy a delicious dish, perfect for any occasion!
